I grew up listening to my peers saying to me: “Look at you! I hate you for being so skinny, while all of us are struggling with weight”. I have always been on the tiny side, even after having 4 kids. I spent most of my 20’s drinking shakes for weight gain. I thought I was a bit too skinny.
Then I was blessed with my 5th child, in my forties. I gained 20kg’s during this pregnancy, but I was not worried. I remember telling my husband: “watch me, I’d be back to my pre-pregnancy weight (67kg) just 3 months after the baby is born (because that’s what happened with my other 4 pregnancies”.
But boy, I was so wrong. My baby is almost 2 years old and I have only lost the 10kg I had gained during pregnancy. The other 10kg won’t go away, although I walk 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I had never been on diet before as I never needed to, but I resorted to trying the 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan. When I lost 5kg in just 30 days, I got so excited! I felt lighter, I slept better and even my allergies (hay fever) improved.
